I would like to know how you go about changing the subscribers alias in Unity 5.0.(1). We use a unique number that is tied to a user in Unity. Our users may be using a phone for a while before they request their info changed. Is there a way to change the alias without losing all the messages? I found the below doc that shows the process for Unity 4.x. Is it the same process for 5.x? If so i was unable to find an alias field in AD. All help will be rated. Thanks

Yes, the process is the same for Unity 5.x. After opening the user properties in AD, go to the Exchange General tab. You should see the alias listed there. Be sure that you're on a domain controller with Exchange administration installed.
Hope this helps.

Is there another way to change the alias if we dont have exchange administration installed?

You could use ADSIEdit to change the "mailNickname" attribute for the user.
