Changing Device pool of the endpoint causes issue

Hi ,

I have a cluster with 1-publisher and 3-subscribers , initially i have registered it to node 1 which is publisher which was placed in Default device pool. Post that i have created a CUCM group (grp2) , the only available node is node-2 which is mapped to device pool dp2.

Now when i change the device pools of the endpoints from default to dp2 , the endpoint is turning from "registered to node1" to " Unregistered" state. Ideally it has to be moved to dp2 which in turn should be registered to node2.

I am not sure what is going wrong in this scenario , Can someone help me to over come this ?

Thanks & Regards

i have created a CUCM group (grp2) , the only available node is node-2 which is mapped to device pool dp2.

The above statment is not very clear. It am assuming that you have configured it like this, the CM group (grp2) that you have created should have Node 2 or Node 3 whichever you want the phone to get register with in the Selected Cisco Unified Communications Managers list. Then this grp2 CM group must have been assigned to the dp2 that you are then assigning to the the phone.

If the above is correct and the phone is still not registering, then check if services are activated on the respective CM server or not that you have selected in the grp2 CM group.

In group 2, I have made only node available to the phones is node2. This group is assigned to dp2.

CUCM services are already activated , only then it shows in the group.

I have cross checked the device pool and CM group mapping , its fine.

The phones in dp2 can register only to node2.

OK, CCM service is up and running, otherwise, you wouldn't even have the option to add a server to the CUCM group.

Changing the DP, and the servers from the CUCM groups, requires a reset on the phone to get the new .xml config file, are you doing that, and waiting for the phones to come back??

You can also try to recreate all the config files changing the TFTP service parameters, and resetting the service.

if this helps, please rate

I have tried resetting the phones as well , it didnt work out.

Can you provide the packet capture from the IP phone when you change the device pool? Also provide the IP addresses of the cucm servers in the cluster and a screenshot of the callmanager group assigned to device pool.
