The BE6K-M4 has reached end-of-life (EOL) last year. The following information was captured from a reseller page that sells EOL Cisco devices.

Thanks for the valuable information. This customer has this Business Edition solution with CUCM 11.5 and the service contract expired . And he want to upgrade to 14. If they buy a service contract do we need to change BE appliance for the upgrade.

Attaching any contract to an End-of-Life (EOL) server is not possible. If you choose to keep the hardware, it will operate without any support, which poses a risk to your infrastructure. However, there is a possibility of running CUCM 14 on M4 hardware by upgrading the VMware. Additionally, upgrading CUCM 14 with Flex will provide you with a support contract for CUCM. If i am correct this hardware cannot go beyond VMware 7.

The existing BE 6000 is running VMware ESXi 7.0.3 and this is supported by 14 version.
So the recommendation is to change the hardware ?

The recommendation is to upgrade the hardware to M6. Even M5 has been announced as End-of-Life (EOL)

In other word we need to buy another hardware model M6?
