Cisco Unified Communication/CUCM Feature Support

Does Cisco Unified Communication/CUCM support following features:

  1. Background  music – provide for a background music source input. The speaker as  well as the overheard paging. Each station may be denied access to the  music, through system programming.
  2. Delayed ringing - Allows  incoming outside calls ringing at a telephone to ring at another  telephone or group of telephone simultaneously (not fwd or hunt) after a  predetermined period of time. The feature should be independently  programmable to each line in the system.
  3. Direct Outside Line  Appearance – The system shall provide for individual line appearance  buttons. These buttons are assignable in system programming and have  access to one specific CO line per button. The only limit to the number  of direct CO line appearance buttons is the number of programmable  button of the digital station.
  4. Distinctive ringing – The system  shall provide at least two types of distinct ringing so the station user  will know what type of call they are answering by the different audible  signals. The two types of distinctive ring are external vs. internal or  intercom calls.
  5. Flexible ringing – will allow ringing to be  assigned on a per line and station basis to offer the greatest  flexibility. To assign a distinctive ring outside of the internal and  external notification to further define specific CO lines.

If these features are available, can you please explain how to implement it?

Sounds like an RFP questionnaire, here are my answers:

1. Not natively, but can be easily accomplished with some programming

2. No delayed ring is available

3. Yes

4. Yes

5. Yes

You cannot play different ring tone, but the ring cadence is different.

Hi Chris,

Thank you very much for your response. For #4, Cisco CUCM SRND says that there is no way to distinguish the ring type for on-net and off-net calls but in the data sheet this feature is mentioned. Do you have any configuration guide to configure above mentioned features.
