If you are referring to adding multiple servers to the cluster similar to a PUB/SUB model, then the answer is No. It is a single server install

Srini

I know you can't but why does it seem to indicate so in this guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucmbe/admin/8_5_1/ccmsys/a02clstr.html

Also, what about having a separate server for conferencing/MoH? Is that allowed with BE?

Hi,

When using CUCMBE 6000 you can get a seconda UCS server for redundancy this will server as a SUB server or PUB with all the apps that you are running on the first one, this info is on the unified communications 8.x SRND.

Now, if you are using CUCMBE 5000 or CUCMBE 3000 then the answer is no, you cannot have a second server to create a cluster for redundacy, however, you can have a second server and have a copy of the configuration so this can be activated in case of an outage. Please notice this will be a 'manual' failover.

If this helps please rate.

So what about the case if you have a 5K deployment and you want to add an additional server for conferencing or MoH?

Hi,

You cannot deploy 5K phones/users with CUCMBE 6000.

The capacity of the system. Unified CMBE 3000 supports 300 users and up to 400 endpoints. Unified CMBE 5000 supports 500 users and up to 575 endpoints. Unified CMBE 6000 supports 1,000 users and up to 1,200 endpoints.

Unified CMBE 6000 runs on a UCS C200 Rack-Mount Server and provides a single instance of Unified CM (a combined publisher and single subscriber instance). An additional UCS C200 server may be deployed to provide subscriber redundancy either in an active/standby or load balancing fashion for Unified CMBE call processing as well as other co-resident applications. Cisco recommends deploying redundant servers with load balancing so that the load is distributed between the two UCS C200 servers. Alternatively an MCS server can be used to provide Unified CM subscriber redundancy either in active/standby or load balancing fashion.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/8x/callpros.html#wp1151359

----------------------------------

Unified CMBE 3000 8.5(1) runs on the MCS 7816 server platform, while Unified CMBE 3000 8.6(1) and later versions run on either the MCS 7816 or the MCS 7890-C1 purpose-built appliance. In either case Unified CMBE 3000 provides a single instance of Unified CM (a combined publisher and single subscriber instance). A secondary subscriber instance is not configurable.

Unified CMBE 5000 runs on a single hardware platform (MCS 7828), and it provides a single instance of Unified CM (a combined publisher and single subscriber instance). A secondary subscriber instance is not configurable.

Hi I meant if you have a Business Edition 5000 deployment.  Can you add an extra server for MoH?

NO, this is a single server solution.
