Dears,

One of the customers has ordered the below; I have to install Cisco Unity Connection on MCS Server never experienced before and couldn't find much help to install. Please guide me and i have some questions

- Looking at below BoQ; is CUC software preloaded on this server? if so, please guide me through rest of the procedure to complete the installation.

- Is this solution come with the CUC software DVD? If so, again need the installation proceedure.

- Can we install using Bootable USB?

- Looking at supporting platform list i noticed 8.6 must need 6GB RAM, So will i use 8.5 & 8.0 ?

- If CUC software is not preloaded then from where i can get this software because customer asked that we have to arrange the software.

- I need initial installation procedure infact. I already know the integration configuration with cucm.

Will appreciate your help

Not sure where they got that, all MCSs have been sold out many months ago.

I don't even think you can order CUC 8.x right now.

If it's preloaded, once you boot the server, fill in the blanks, that's all you need to do, follow the wizard, and fill in the blanks. You can review the CUC installation guide on cisco.com.

No, you need a bootable DVD for the install.

Yes, the platform has only 4GB as originally shipped, so you cannot go beyond 8.5, what version?? is up to you or your customer.

If you don't have the bootable media, you'll need to order via PUT, again, not sure if you can as it's already EOS, if not, work that with TAC or your AM.

Again, the installation is a wizard, the same kind you see in CUCM or CUPS/IM&P, it's a fill in the blanks procedure. The CUC installation guides are all available under the CUC documentation on cisco.com

Thanks for you reply,

Can i download Bootable media if i get service contract detail from customer.

Can you plz explain this statement "order via PUT"

If i download the below, will it work or is it something else?

There are NO BOOTABLE media images on cisco.com, those are ONLY for upgrades.

PUT = Product Upgrade Tool

http://tools.cisco.com/gct/Upgrade/jsp/productUpgrade.jsp

Again, not sure if you can get it there as it's already EOS.

Hi Mohsin,

UCXN 8.x is already end of sale but is supported till Aug.2017.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/unified-communications/unity-connection/eos-eol-notice-c51-731028.html

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/unified-communications/unity-connection/eos-eol-notice-listing.html

As suggested by Jaime, you can involve TAC to have Bootable publish for you else, if you have UCSS contract  and VM available ,you can order latest version through PUT /get Bootable of 10.x and install it.

regds,

aman

Hi Mohsin,

Cisco UCM / UCXN 8.x is been EoS as Jamie has mentioned, however 8.6 is under support till 2017 as Aman Soi has mentioned.

This means that no customers can order any 8.x licenses, however of course they can order 10.x or 9.x and install 8.x if they wish.

If I were you, I would recommend the customer to purchase the new licenses for 10.x and use them, however the 9.x onwards its Virtual ONLY i.e. you will have to use it on VMWare VMs either on the Cisco's recommended TRCs only.

Here is the list of it.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any other queries or concerns.
