Hi all experts.
I have a very simply topology,
IPC-1--------------------------R1----------------------------------------------R2----------------------------------IPC-2
SCCP (g711) default dial peer voip SCCP(g711)
(codec=g729)
(IPC stands for IP communicator)
When i make the call from IPC-1 to IPC-2, the call is successful !! why ? i am testing this on dynamips and as per my knowledge R1 has to transcode from G711 to g729 so the call should fail (since dynamips doesnt use DSPs),
I am really missing something big here. Pls guide me pls

Phones also support g.729, so check with which codec the call is established.

Dear Sir,
I cant paste the results here, since i built this scenario at my home. But i checked yesterday and the codec was g729. So are you saying that transcoding is not required because phones also support g729 ?
