Hi Cisco Techs,

Have looked at below links for configuring ip address ranges but shows nothing re how Cisco phones get ip addresses.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/7_1_2/ccmcfg/bccm-712-cm/b02dhsrv.html#wp1020200 and

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/7_1_2/ccmcfg/bccm-712-cm/b02dhsrv.html#wp1062835

Refer to below document in case you want CM to act as a DHCP server:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/7_1_2/ccmcfg/bccm-712-cm/b02dhsrv.html

Not sure what you mean by how they get IP addresses, this will work as any other DHCP server you could have on an ISR/switch/windows/etc

HTH

java

if this helps, please rate

I haven't allocated any ip range for this and none is shown to be allocated in this  ie server is 192.168.0.12 by adding myself
