Doubts about deploying VCS x8.7 with Skype4B Server 2015 !

Hello everyone,

          Here we using a VCS version x8.7 intregrated with Lync 2013 Server, It works properly. But the Lync Server 2013 needs to upgrade to "Skype for Business Server 2015". Are they is compatible ?
          If not, are there another VCS version compatible with Skype4B Server ? Or the Cisco is working about this compatiblity for a future versions for VCS ?

Hi,

VCS 8.7 doesn't seem compatible with Business Server 2015.

Refer to this link.

VCS 8.7.3 is the latest version.

         I saw some Microsoft docs about integration Skype4B 2015 with Cisco video, for integration need use VIS for integration with CUCM, but I have some doubs...

        Today we use Expressay-C with SIP Trunk to Lync 2013 Server, and using Expressway-E for external calls, the codecs are registering in CUCM v10.5 !!!

        If we integrate Skype4B using SIP trunk with CUCM and VIS (Skype4B 2015) like saw microsoft document, we don't need to use more Expressway-C ? And about calls SIP externals from Expressay-E ??

Expressay-C and E is legacy for new integrations ?

Hi,

You are correct.

In order to integrate Sfb with CUCM codecs you will have to bring in VIS.

I believe you will still need the Expressway-C and E to talk to the outside world.

if I am not wrong a high level topology would look something like this.

clients---INTERNET-------firewall----Expway-E---firewall----Expway-C----trunk---CUCM---trunk---VIS---SfB.
