Hi All,
Client OS = Windows 98
VMO version = 4.3(b)
Windows DCOM update = installed
Unity 4.0(3)
When installing the VMO on one particular 98 client the installation halts with the following error:
Error 1720: There is a probem with this Windows installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run.
Has anyone else experienced this error and knows a way around it?
Have gone in as default user and also network user, same error.
Many thanks in advance

Hello -
Do you have the most current version of the Windows Script scr56en.exe on the PC? When we pushed the VMO 4.0(3)B client out with SMS, we encountered some Win2K clients that had back-leveled versions of the file and the MSI would not run successfully. Here is an MS link to the 5.6 version for Windows 98 - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0a8a18f6-249c-4a72-bfcf-fc6af26dc390&DisplayLang=en. Also, make sure the user installing the MSI is a local admin on the PC.
Hope that helps! Sincerely,
Ginger

Hi Ginger,
That was indeed the problem. Thanks for the advice.
