Expressway/VCS works with Unrestricted version of CUCM

Hi Guys

Does Expressway/VCS Expressway works with Unrestricted version of CUCM.

If not what is the possible solutions.

Hi Prashanth,

Unrestricted version disables signaling and media encryption. Majority of the MRA deployments do not use encryption from the Expressway-C onwards internally. Meaning the public facing Expressway-E and C shield the CUCM off from the internet. To answer your question unrestricted version is compatible. TCP will be used for signaling and RTP for the media.

Yes I agree it work provided the Expressway C and CUCM, CUC and IM&P are using TCP ( only option available with unresctricted).

I had one setup where the CUCM was wrongly upgrdaded to unrestricted version and expressway was still working.
