Hi,
We have the below external DNS SRV records configured for Expressway MRA which resolves to the Expressway-E primary and secondary FQDN.
_sip._tls.mycompany.com
_sip._tls.mycompany.com
The customer wants to change these records to something else because they want to use this for the new Skype for Business they are going to deploy.
Is it possible? If yes, how does it affect the MRA devices? Do we need to configure something in the collaboration setup to make this happen?
Thanks in advance,
Libin Benedict

Those are not used for MRA, those are used for SIP over TLS

Hi Jaime,
Thanks for correcting me.
Can you please let me know whether we can use these records for the Skype for Business without affecting the current Expressway configuration as these are now resolving to the Exp-E FQDN.
Thanks,

If you are using Expressway for MRA only then you don't need these SRVs, you only ned collab-edge record. If you also use Expressway for B2B video then you need to keep them or assign to different domain as you cannot have both Skype and Cisco Exp video using the same SRVs. You cannot change these to something else, your only option is to use different domains.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the information.
We will be using this for B2B video calls as well. So, the option is to change the domain. Does this mean we have to change the domain of the expressway servers, CUCM etc or changing the domain of all the SRV records alone is sufficient by keeping the existing domain of the expressway servers (My expressway E FQDN is, say, expresswaye.mycompany.com)?
For eg, _sip._tls.newdomain.com resolves to expresswaye.mycompany.com
Or create a sub-domain?
For eg, _sip._tls.sub.mycompany.com resolves to expresswaye.mycompany.com
I am not an expert in this. Please pardon if I am asking any silly questions. :)
Thanks,
Libin Benedict
