Hi I have a situations when I have unity subscribers with 1XXX extensions. What I want to do is to add corresponding alternate extensions in format 2XXX. Is there a way to do it in bulk?

Yes, use bulk edit.
CommServer\Utilities\BulkEdit\BulkEdit.exe
Select your subscribers
Select the Alt. Extensions tab
On the first dropdown box, select the Alternate Extension you want to change
Select REMOVE THE LEFT MOST "1" DIGIT
Select APPEND THESE DIGITS TO THE LEFT, enter 2
(There is an option to TEST EXTENSION" to see the output of the digits)

The problem is that I need to bulk create alternate extensions but not bulk edit. Say a subscriber has ext 1234 and I need to create an alternate ext 2234 (only the first digit is changed). I've checked the bulk edit tool and it seems that it can only bulk edit but not bulk create alt. extensions.

The bulk edit tool will take a chunk of your subscribers, or all of them, and create an alternate extensions for them based on the primary extension.
Try it for yourself by selecting a few subscribers.

Ok, it did work eventually, thanks for help. I'm not sure what went wrong the first time, maybe I didn't select the alt. extension # to be created.
