If you mean UCM IM & Presence server...
This does not support AWS or other public cloud IaaS at this time.
Do you not have space on your existing infra ? www.cisco.com/go/vmpt to help model everything.

Although, most of our infra is running in AWS but we can buy some space in a DC, If we go ahead and purchase a Linux or Windows based Physical boxes from DC, would I be able to set it up or do I need a server with VMware Vsphere?

Nope Cisco support for AWS is planned with 12.5 but will need VMware ESxi hypervisor in AWS, there are no plans for native AWS support

UCM/IMP 12.5 will permit VMware's
service "VMware Cloud on AWS" (VMC-AWS) but this not the same service as Amazon's AWS.
Otherwise yes a VMware-virtualized esxihost is required for an IMP VM.
