IP Communicator - Audio Device Selection

Hi There

I have a (hopefully) simple problem which may be more PC related rather than IP Communicator related.

Basically, I want to be able to pick and choose which audio device to use for the different Audio types.

eg:

- use my USB headset for Headset mode

- use my USB webcam device for speakerpohne

etc

But under the "Audio" tab in preferences, I am only able to select "Default Windows Audio Device" for all three options (Headset, Speakerphone, Handset).

In the past I was able to pull down the menu and select which audio device I wanted to use that was available on my system (Windows 7). But something has obviously changed.

Under "Device for ringer", all the audio options are available. It's just under the "Devices for Audio Modes" that I dont have any options.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I am running Windows 7 and Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.5.0.

TIA

Hi,

If a audio device is not available in CIPC, its because CIPC determines it to be not suitable for the purpose (or may be the just the driver is not supported or not functioning).

You can try uninstalling and re-installing CIPC. You can also try re-running the audio wizard to see if CIPC picks it up.

There is, however, a supported audio device list - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cipc/7_0/english/release/notes/CIPC70_RN.html#wp41251

Thanks
