IPFaxService stops forwarding inbound faxes

The Fax service started showing errors processing inbound fax messages. Here's the content from the last interation of the service. Any ideas?

I can't find any references to this error message.The version is 2.0.0.17

The latest version is 2.0.0.22 - probably worth making sure you give that a try. I'll forward along the log output anyway.

Has the fax service been delivering inbound faxes correctly up until this error occured? Has the intended recipient of this fax message (posler) previously received an inbound fax successfully? Is user posler hidden from address books in Exchange, or is there anything different about this user?

It might be helpful to catch an occurance of this failure with the ip fax service diagnostics cranked up.

You can add this DWORD registry value, set it to 3, and let the service make a pass through the ip fax inbox, to get a much more detailed diagnostic trace:

HKLM\Software\Active Voice\IpFaxRouter\1.0\DiagLevel

Remove the registry value or set it to zero to disable the advanced diags once you've catpured them.

The logs above were with the DWORD DiagLevel added with value of 3.

Could this happen if the customer changed a domain policy. Isn't this a problem with the service talking to the Exchange message store?

The only diag file of interest at present is the first one you attached. It doesn't look like it's got anything more than the first version, so I'm skeptical that the enhanced diags are activated.

The error is being generated during the creation and addressing of the message. In particular, when the intended recipient is added to the message, we try to resolve the recipient to make sure it's valid. That process is failing. It's not necessarily telling us the recipient is invalid, but the check is failing to return a useful result.

Does it fail for every recipient or just the one shown in the logs (posler)?

I just test another recipient and it appears to have processed that one since it just says delivered, then it starts failing again on posler who has 3 faxes. They must have changed something with this exchange account as it's been working.
