Hi All,
Our customer is asking if we can disable the snmp service for the UC Applications. Is it possible to disable it? If yes, Can we just do it by deactivating the service from Service Activation? To give you an idea, the customer is asking this because of some security in snmp. Appreciate your advise. Thank you.

SNMP is an application layer protocol which facilitates the exchange of management information among network devices, such as nodes, routers, etc. It enables administrators to remotely manage network performance, find and solve network problems and plan for network growth. If you are not using any monitoring tool or any other tool which needs SNMP traps then you can disable it. Also if you are using CER [Cisco Emergency Responder] in your enviroment, then there is a need of SNMP to be enabled.

Thank abhay. If it is related to the monitoring tool, does it mean that RTMT is also using this service? Is it safe or best practice to disable this service from the UC Applications? Thank you
