On our WAN, we have WAAS (wan accelerators) in place that accelerate and de-duplicate data. When SFTP is used across the WAN, it completely bypasses the WAAS. Is it possible to use FTP instead of SFTP, so the WAAS can accelerate the CUCM backups?
Same question in regards to CCX, IM&P, and Unity. These 4 servers backup 2 gigabytes of data once a week, which is mostly the same data as the last backup.

Do you know if it is possible to remove the TFTP data from the backup? That is 1.6GB of data that I could do without in a backup.

No, depending on your version you'll only get a few options of what to choose to backup, but not backing TFTP, is not one of those.

Hmm, that is kind of disappointing...
