Hi All
We are migrating our 7975 phones from being powered by individual Cisco PSU blocks to PoE from new Cisco switches we are deploying at the office.
A question has come up asking if:
"Is possible to damage the 7975 phones during the migration if they are become powered by both a PoE port and the Cisco PSU at the same time?"
If there is a possability to damage the phones or PoE Switches for that matter by having both connected at the same time then we will need to plan to ensure either are connected at the same time.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
Regards Greg

Greg,
You will not cause any damange to phone by plugging the the PSU while a phone is running on PoE. The phone is set up such that once it's pulling power via a source (PoE or PSU), it will continue to use that source until the source is lost or the phone is restarted.
Thanks,
