Is it possible to have CUCM for free?

Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible to get a license for CUCM for training and as a lab. I don't work for a Cisco Partner so I can't use any of their infostructure and if anyone had any advice for learning CUCM.

Thanks, R1t4uk

Hello @R1t4uk

You could download CUCM and use it 90 days.

Hi @R1t4uk

  • Cisco DevNet offers a CUCM sandbox environment where you can practice and test configurations without needing a license. It's a great way to get hands-on experience in a controlled environment. (https://developer.cisco.com/site/sandbox/)
  • You might be able to obtain a 90-day trial license for CUCM through Cisco's website. This can be extended for lab purposes if you reach out to Cisco support.

Good luck with your CUCM training!

When you install CUCM, and if it’s not licensed, you still have a 90-day evaluation period to use it. If you need to extend beyond 90 days, there are two options: you can request a demo license just once by contacting Cisco TAC.

The other option after 90 days is reinstalling the CUCM. If you use an answer generation file or PCD for installation, this will be quick, and you can restore the backup.

The option @Vaijanath Sonvane mentioned, using a sandbox, is also a good choice if that works for you.
