ISDN Layer 1 status DEACTIVATED | Transmitter / Receiver error

celestinobuque

Hi everyone,

I have a ISR4431/K9 with one E1 connection to our ISP but it has stopped working.

ISP says that the line is ok, but when I run some commands I see that the line is down, what other kind of tests I can do to verify if the problem is on my side?

show isdn status

Global ISDN Switchtype = primary-net5
ISDN Serial0/2/0:15 interface
dsl 0, interface ISDN Switchtype = primary-net5
Layer 1 Status:
DEACTIVATED
Layer 2 Status:
TEI = 0, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = TEI_ASSIGNED
Layer 3 Status:

Active dsl 0 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x00000000
Number of L2 Discards = 0, L2 Session ID = 0
Total Allocated ISDN CCBs = 0

show controllers e1 0/2/0

Applique type is Channelized E1 - balanced
Transmitter is sending remote alarm.
Receiver has loss of signal.
alarm-trigger is not set

Give a shut no shut and see if it makes any difference.

Check the physical cable.

Check with ISP what crc4 they use, is it crc4 or no-crc4. Accordingly  check the controller configuration and make changes if required to match the ISP.

Hi @Nithin Eluvathingal

I tried shut no shut and no difference.

I asked the SP to check as they have a converter in the middle, i am wainting. (But they brought a phone tester and they could make calls)

Any other steps to check what is going on?

Check What CRC4 they use. Accordingly make changes on CRC4  configurations.

If you  have a spare Port available on gateway  try on that. ISP provide the service through   a Modem or ONTE ? Also Check the cable connecting Your Gateway.

SP changed the converter and everything is fine now.
