Jabber for Mac

Jabber for Mac seems to be working except one thing. I cannot chat with other Jabber for Mac users. I can chat with Jabber for Windows users but just not from Mac to Mac. The chat option when I hover over a contact is just simply not there. What am I missing?

Do you see an IM address for the users you cannot chat with?
