I have a jabber user that cannot search contacts. If she enters even the first letter of the person's name, the box "no search results found" comes up. Even typing in their full email address results in nothing. She is an LDAP synchronized user, has the appropriate subscribe calling search spaces set, etc. The jabber client has been uninstalled, reinstalled to no avail.
I have collected log files and would like to know what it is I can search for that will tell me what is going wrong with the user.

Is this user able to search contacts from other PC or not. Do a simple test ask this user to check on a working PC and similarly ask a working user to test on this PC. This way, you will come to know if the problem is with user or machine. Is the PC part of any workgroup/domain and able to resolve FQDN of CM/AD/CUP servers.

How does the user get the directory configuration???
SRV? .xml?? service profile??
Whichever option you use, is it properly configured???

It is 1 user out of 100 users. I managed to get the user working. How I don't know. I converted her from an LDAP user to a local user, filled in the directory URI field and still no luck. Then I synchronized the user back to an LDAP user and it started working. I believe there is an ongoing DNS issue that is causing the problem.
