Is it possible to setup a login feature on a UC540 system so that the phones are not active until the user inputs an access code?

Hi David,
I'm not particularly familiar with the Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series UC540, but the feature you're after is called Extension Mobility within Cisco. Hopefully, this might assist with a search of Cisco.com (e.g. UC540 Extension Mobility, or CME Extension Mobility configuration)
Kind regards,
Craig Cooper

Hi David,
Here is a guide on how to configure Exstension Mobility on UC5XX or CallManager Express Systems:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmemobl.html
I hope it helps.
