I have not been able to find a clear answer online so I figured I would ask here. Is it possible to integrate a Lync 2013 server with Cisco Presence Server (8.5) and recieve status updates in the Lync Client. For example, when I pick up my phone will it change my status to busy or "on a call"? I know that the Cisco Jabber client will do this as I deployed it in another environment.

It is possible with Lync 2010, I dont think Lync 2013 is officially supported yet, though it should be any day.

Jeff,
Chris is correct. This is not yet offically supported. Though I have seen many cases in which it works fine because the underlying communication for Remote Call Control has not changed between the two versions. I have seen a handful of customers where this worked just fine with 2013.

Jason
