Hi CCL,
This exact question has popped up from time to time and is an excellent one. I have never seen a way to make this number higher than 14;
Here is a good November 2006 thread;
My take on this is that you can up this number to 14 if you allow 5 to be added via PCA (I have not tried this :( myself but maybe you could give it a try. If this doesn't work, then 9 is the Max.
To reduce the number of requests from subscribers who want alternate extensions set up for multiple cell phones, home phones, and other phones, give subscribers class of service (COS) rights to specify their own set of alternate extensions. (See the Subscribers > Class of Service > Profile page.) With proper COS rights, **a subscriber can specify up to five alternate extensions in the Cisco Unity Assistant, in addition to the nine that you can specify on the Subscribers > Alternate Extensions page in the Cisco Unity Administrator.**
From this doc;
Subscribers Can Add, Modify, and Delete Their Own Alternate Extensions Indicate whether subscribers assigned to this COS can specify their own set of alternate extensions in the Cisco Unity Assistant. When this box is checked, subscribers can define up to five alternate extensions in addition to those already defined for them on the Subscribers > Alternate Extensions page.
By allowing subscribers to specify their own alternate extensions, you can reduce the number of requests that Cisco Unity administrators handle for subscribers who want alternate extensions specified for multiple cell phones, home phones, and other phones.
From this doc;
Hope this helps!
