Hello,

I’m trying to understand the usage of Service Template in PCP. I can see under Provisioning Setup>Domain> Service Template. But I create a service template, I’m not able to find the service template in user provisioning page.

Kindly, check the attached images.

Hi,

The process of creating service templates and important considerations for the same are explained here

Most of the time when a template is made and it does not show up during ordering, the problem is with what we call syndication. In the template there is an area where you need to associate service areas and user roles, which tells PCP when you would like the template to be available. The attachment called syndication_example shows this association table with two entries.  There may be times when you want a template to show up for all users at all sites. In this case you put associations in for all users and service areas.  Other times you may only want the 8861 template with executive settings to show up for user roles like VP, Director or Doctor, while you only what the 8861 template with normal setting to show up for Nurse, Employee or Contractor.  The associations set determine when you will see each template.

The second most common problem is that the template is being filtered out due to a mismatch in what the template covers and what is being ordered. An example is a template for SIP in an environment that only supports SCCP. PCP will filter automatically for situations like this.

Nice info Anthony.

Thank you Manish and Anthony,

I'm now more familiar with PCP components. (+5 for both)
