DSP (PVDM-32) Hardware conference bridge setup on Cisco 2800 gateway

I have a cisco 2821 gateway and I would like to setup hardware based conference usig PVDM-32 card installed. What steps do I need to configure on the gateway to get this working?

Briefly, it is this:

voice-card 0

dspfarm

dspf pro 1 conference

ass app sccp

max sessions <1-4>

no shut

sccp local

sccp ccm 1 id 1 version

sccp ccm group 1

ccm 1 priority 1

associate pro 1 register NAMEOFDEVICE

That should get you going.

Don't we need [dsp services dspfarm] command under voice-card ?

That command is for something slightly different - dspfarm is the command for using the DSPs for media resources.

When I try to setup the dspf profile I am not able to set the number of sessions. Is there a command I need to enter to use the pvdm-32 card for conference?

How do I view the dsp cards installed on the router?

If you get <0-0> that means you don't have enough resources, CFB demands (at least, depending on codec config and sessions) a WHOLE dsp to work.

Options?

A) Add more DSPs

B) Decrease the voice termination channels until you have 16 channels left for CFB. Obviously this means less calls.

Do a sh diag to find out what's onboard

Hi,

Yes you may have an E1 or FXOs that eat your DSPs

unplug them and check

shutting them down won't affect
