reinstall schema master server on the first unity

We have two unity voice mail only servers( A nd B) within one AD and exchange orgnization.Both of them have DC and exchange on the server.A is the first DC which has all the FSMO role. Now we are going to uninstall A and reinstall it in another server with the same information(AD, orgnization,nmame etc). Understand that during the unintall A, B will be impacted. My question is after reinstallation, will B still be able to join the same AD and Orgnization. I know this is more mmicrosoft question. But I guess people out here doing Unity also know microsoft a lot.

Hi -

I recommend you check your Unity installation and reconfiguration guides to validate the process with Unity (and with TAC when you get the chance), since I do not have experience specifically in voicemail only installations. Here is a good Microsoft reference that discusses the FSMO roles and transferring them. You can transfer the Schema master to your other Unity server B. You would do this before demoting the DC on server A. Do you by any chance have a lab environment in which you could test? Regardless, you should be able to rejoin the new server to the same AD and Exchange org.
