Route Group & Gateway Utilisation

Hello

Today, I had a strange issue with calls at a site where all outbound calls were failing. A reboot of the router fixed the issue but it seems like the route group did not work as I expected.

My current setup for the site is 2 routers each with a PRI connection to the carrier.

Both of these are in a route group attached and was set up in a top down style:

Router 01

Router 02

 

I have amended it to be circular since. For some reason, with Router2 being unavailable, all outbound calls failed despite Router1 being available. Looking at the logs, it does seem that both PRI lines carry calls normally. But I have no idea why this occurred otherwise?

Any experts have any ideas?

When the calls were failing were they at least getting to your ISR's? 

 

If it happens again make sure that you have DEB ISDN q931 running.

What does RTMT show when the calls were failing?
