Single Number Reach and Calling Number

CUCM 7.1(3b)

2851 router running 12.2(24T2), connected to a PRI

If the PSTN calls the DID of the remote destination profile for Phone1/DN1, the remote destination see's the PSTN calling number.

If the PSTN calls the call handler (Unity Connection), then dials the DN of the remote destination profile for Phone1/DN1, the remote destination see's the PSTN calling number.  Note, this required changing the service parameter in CUCM to use the originating DN and not the voice port DN to work properly.

When the PSTN calls Phone2/DN2, then Phone2 transfers the call to the remote destination profle for Phone1/DN1, the calling number shown on the remote destination is the the external phone mask for Phone2/DN2.  However, Phone1/DN1 shows the the PSTN calling number.

What can I do to make sure the the PSTN calling number is displayed on the remote destination when the call is transferred from an internal phone?

My first guess would be that the outbound call leg to the remote destination is made prior to DN2 completing the transfer. At that stage, the calling party is still DN2, not the off-net party. Since Unity is performing an unsupervised transfer, this does not occur.

You could confirm this by debuging the gateway to see what ANI is sent out on the call. If it is an ISDN PRI, 'debug isdn q931' would show you what you need.

You could also try a directed transfer instead and see if that changes the behavior. If this is what is happening you will likely not be able to do anything about it. Updating ANI mid-call (when the transfer completes) does not typically work on the PSTN.
