I have single number reach setup on an 8.5.1 CUCM server. If I call the four digit extension of the phone from another internal phone, both the desk phone and the remote destination phone ring. However, if the desk phone's DID is called from an external number, only the deskphone rings.
I've checked all the CSSes and they allow calling to the cell number.
What did I miss?

Start by getting some debugs from the GW to verify if this is really a CUCM problem or if this might have to do something with your telco and ANIs.

What would I specifically be looking for?

Some telcos block calls with ANIs that do not belong to your DID range.
Do some test calls and check:
a) if they both reach the GW
b) the setup message on each.
Debugging this is no different from any other PSTN call, same debugs and methods apply.

It doesn't look like it attempts to call out. I see the inbound call but no outbound. I've attached the bebug for the duration of the call (I changed the calling number to 1234567890. This calling a DID with the last four digits of 9189. The configured RD did not ring and it looks like the gateway never got the request. During that debug I hung up after I got the UC voicemail greeting.
Also, after this I dialed to 9189 by internal extension and it dialed out without a problem.
Thoughts?

I figured this out. I read the debug incorrectly and the call was attempting to go out but the provider was blocking it due to the calling number not being provisioned for the trunk. Then it was either to mask all outbound calls to a single number or have the provider allow these types of calls to go through.
Luckily, the provider allows this setup and now it's working.

I have encountered such a problem the debug shows when the call goes out for a call originated from internal ip phone and it works, but I the debug doesn’t show any thing for calls originated from external phone and also it doesn’t call at the remote destination. Pleas tale me for possible solutions.
this is the debug for calls originated from external phone

Hello,
I have the same issue with 9.1.2, only I am not forking out to PSTN but to SIP trunk/Lync 2013.
Not sure How I can get some debbugs from a SIP trunk.

I am facing same problem. My CUCM version is 11.0. Before Upgrading to 11.0 it was working.
Can Someone help me in this.?
Thank you so much in advance.
Regards,
Mangesh
