Hi Experts,
I am planning to install two modules of SM-X-PVDM-3000 on ISR4461 router, and I am in doubt about the maximum channels specs on the datasheet, that have below table:

It means that ISR4461 supports two SM-X-PVDM-3000 modules but the maximum channels are 4000. I am planning to use all of the two modules capacity for transcoding only from codec G729a to G711a. Considering that transcoding of Medium complexity and that each module SM-X-PVDM-3000 supports 1400 channels, may I use the two modules to have 2800 transcoding channels of capacity in the same router?

That does indeed look a little confusing. I never had any need for one of these modules, so I have no firsthand information for you. Based upon the numbers and information given I would say that you likely would not get the full channels out of both of them based on that the maximum is set as 4000, not 6000 that the modules together would have. So for the second module it sounds like you would only get 1/3 of the channels and very likely that would be the same for the number of transcoding sessions you could get from it.

I talked with Cisco team and they said that the limit of 4000 channels will impact only the low complexity (g711a to g711u) transcoding, so that limit is regarding channels, and not PVDM in self. Its very confuse, so to be clear, for medium or high complexity it would be possible to use the maximum channels of the modules because it does not reach the maximum channels of the router that is 4000.
I will buy the modules and when I get then installed I post here the results.
