Subscriber Sign-in change?

Unity 4.05

We believe that when calling Unity from a "known" extension the system directs you to the subscriber sign in. If you press * it should back you out to the main greeting. Now it is simply asking for your user ID. If you press * again, Unity hangs up. How do I get it to play the main greeting when pressing * at the "Enter your password" prompt?

I'm not sure I understand your description and I'm pretty sure what you're saying about 3.x is not accurate. When you press * at a greeting you get the subscriber sign in conversation by default - this has always been the case and has not changed. If you press * again instead of entering an ID we hang up on you - that's not configurable. However if you press # instead of entering an ID you get sent back to the opening greeting. I think maybe this is what you were thinking of - the * hangup behavior has been there quite a long time... this is how you get Unity to hang up if you end up getting conferenced in with it (i.e. you went to add an employee to a conference call and it forwards to voice mail - you press *** and it forces Unity to hang up - that's how this works).

This is the default behavior to allow you to check your messages from a phone other than your own.

Understand. However in 3.x when you pressed * you heard the main greeting at which point you could then press the selection to access the subscriber log on if you were trying to access your messages from another users' phone. I have subscribers that call in from their cell phones trying to directly access other subscribers' mailboxes and they keep cutting themselves off. Under 4.05 when you press * it prompts for your mailbox number instead of playing the main greeting. If the caller press * a second time Unity hangs up. I want to change the * so that it plays the main greeting instead of the mailbox prompt. Is this possible?

All of our users have gotten used to pressing * to back up to the previous menus from using the IPCC system and our other voicemail servers. (Knowing that if your are at the top level pressing * again will hang up. It was just brought to my attention that doing this in Unity results in a hang-up before reaching the main greeting. (Shows how much I use the features) I'll change their operating instructions to press *# to get to the main menu.
