This doesn't require a COP file. You can select a basic or advanced 3rd-party SIP phone from the model dropdown out of the box.

PS- CUCM 10.5 is end of support and has known vulnerabilities. Start planning your upgrade to version 15 if you haven't already.

Hi Jonathan, thank you for your response.

Cesar and I works together. On this CUCM .cop file query, unfortunately, the basic or advanced 3rd-party sip phone doesn't work with our phones. We used to run the IVT Testing between Cisco Call Manager latest version and our product and certify our integration for customers. Once, we complete the IVT (Interoperability Verification Testing ) testing with CUCM, Cisco used to issue a specific phone firmware of our phones..that needs to be uploaded to CUCM to add our own specific phone model....but now without specific .cop files we can't add them…

Cisco is not ready to issue new files for our phones even after completing IVT testing.

The existing CUCM v14.x files are working with CUCM v15 but sometime if there is a new SU update from Cisco then existing old .cop file doesn’t work.

AFAIK, the COP-Files are normally provided by the manufacturer of the SIP 3rd party devices, and not by Cisco.
Best examples are Ascom and Spectralink with their IP-DECT devices, which have to be downloaded from their sites.

Before you do the upgrade, you always have to check with the manufacturer, if they already support CUCM 15 and already have a new COP-File.

E.g. Ascom doesn't support CUCM 15 yet. So all of our customers with Ascom Integration cannot upgrade to CUCM 15. They have to wait for Ascom.
