TRAI Regulation Check for India

Hello,

 

We have a CUCM which is hosted in Europe. We are checking for IP phone / softphone function in India site.

We do not have local voice gateway in India. 

 

What we are planning:

 

  • We will configure IP phone and Softphone for India users. These IP phones and softphones will be registered to CUCM which is hosted in Europe.
  • We are planning to provide a  number from Germany site to these IP phones/soft phones.
  • These phones in India will be making Inter-cluster, Intra-site, Inter-site calls and local calls in Germany.
  • When India users will make local Germany calls, These calls will go via PSTN gateway which is located in Germany.

Can someone please let know if you are using such scenarios in your organization.

 

Is this scenario valid and allowed per TRAI regulations?

Hi,

The inter-cluster, inter-site and intra-site IP to IP calls are allowed between India and Germany locations but the calls from India Users to Germany Local Gateway over WAN are not allowed as per TRI regulations.

AFAIK not allowed  Asper the TRAI.But Not sure if there was any changed this.
