ucm 8.5 to ucm 8.6 upgrade

Hello Team,

We are using call manger version ucm 8.5.1and we have to upgrade ucm 8.6 for that we need any extra license or we can use the same license which is there in current version.

Suggest for the same.

8.x you should be able to use the same Lic, however if you have UCSS, why not upgrade to 10.5 ?

Hi Renji,

Minor upgrades do not require ay UCSS contract.

Prior to upgrading to 8.6, refer compatibility matrix along with Restricted/Unrestricted version which u need to download [patch ]

Lastly,also look into cop file.

Also need to install any refresh upgrade before upgrading ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.0.cop.sgn on 8.5.1(x) before upgrading to 8.6.2a.

Hi,

you are using Restricted version .

you can upgrade to CUCM RST version 8.6(2a) SU5 [8.6.2.25900-8]

COP file needs to be installed first before u upload the patch of 8.6(2a)SU5.

once the cop file is uploaded, u can see by using command show version active through CLI of OS administration of that server in a cluster.

Hi Renji,

If you are using Restricted version, you CANNOT upgrade it to Unrestricted version.

The 8.5 to 8.6 and above will always require the COP file because there is a kernel change of RHL (it goes from RHL 4.x to RHL 5.x) and the COP file facilitates just that.
