Unable to call a number that can be called from a personal phone.

An employee asked me that they aren't able to make a call to a couple of students. They were knew and thought she just did not type the correct format when making external calls.

I asked for the phone numbers and tried calling them from my office phone, and wouldn't you know it, a message gets prompted that the phone numbers have been disconnected. These are local area numbers as well if that matters. I then decide to call them from my cell phone and the call goes through.

Has anyone encountered this issue?

Start by looking at debugs from your GW to find out what's happening to the call, and maybe you'll need to ask your telco as there might be an interconnection between providers that is not working properly.

if this helps, please rate

83So I had my phone provider check it out and the issue seems to be that its on slip alarm, meaning that our equipment is not in synch with there T1 line in there telephone switch. Possibly that our settings are set to Internal timing and should be switched to external.

This stuff is over my head since we don't have an on prem employee to fix the issue, but at least I got some feedback. I think ill have to have it configured in voice gateway.

If you know how that may be done and feel generous to give a lending hand I sure would appreciate it.

Thank you!

whats your gateway model ? You may be missing network clock commands.

Could you share the below from gateway.

  • Show Controller t1
  • Show running configuration

Would this be enough? or do you need the entire config for each one?

You have above mentioned  error on your Controller. You configurations looks good. You have configured  required  network clock commands. I would suggest to work with Your telco.

As JAVA mentioned, Take debugs from gateway. It gives you more information about what digits you send to ISP and what's their  response.
