we have unity connection 7.1x that has users synced from ccm - the users alias and extension is the ipphone extension, eg alias is 8506357 and so is the extension.
we wish to migrate to cuc ver 10.5 - the users from this system are ldap synced so the alias is the samaccountname from ldap and the extension is in an E164 format, so alias will be something like jbloggs and extension is +2088506357.
Will the COBRAS export match anything as neither alias or extension are the same - will the cobras fail or will it just create new users with the fileds as per the old unity ?
do both these fields need to match? What is best way forward ? any advise appreciated.

Hi,
I believe COBRAS will create a new user but I would recommand you to export and import only one user to see the behaviour.
Thanks,

It will be a new user.
You can take a backup and use the backup editor to covert the existing numbers to the new ones,

hi
thank you for your replies guys, much appreciated.
one further question (atm) - we migrating 10000 users in one go and we have 7 different templates on the new system that we have manually created from the old system (as they do not get migrated). On the import will we be prompted to identify users against new templates for all users ? . Is there anyway to bypass this - templates have different languages etc. can it be identified in a csv ? is there a way of identifying which users were creted with which templates ?
