Taking the defaults of a Unity Connection platform installation builds a qty of 5 volumes. (Drive C through Drive G)
Can this be correct?

Yes, that is possible. Best practices recommend to separate OS, SQL database, transaction logs, Unity logs, etc. by using different partitions. Take a look at the Drive Locations for Files on a Large-Scale System section in the following link.

Opened a TAC case, this is correct.
Also found out that "NTVDM encountered a Hard Error" is caused by bad media shipped by Cisco. Fix is to download from CCO
