Have some questions about installing Unity on a Windows 2003 server with a Domino mail store. Currently on 4.0(4) and from docs below it states that the IBM Lotus notes currently doesn't support windows 2003. The customer does have Lotus Notes on windows 2003 client machines, so can they just install the newer version on the unity server if they were to reinstall unity on Windows 2003 and be supported by cisco?

I haven't been able to find the document above for 4.0(5) yet.
Using IBM Lotus Domino for the message store is not supported when Windows Server 2003 is installed on the Cisco Unity server. (When you use Domino for the message store, you must install IBM Lotus Notes on the Cisco Unity server, and currently Notes is not available for Windows Server 2003.)

I searched on IBM's website for a long time and only could find these two relevant links
http://www.lotus.com/products/product4.nsf/wdocs/65sysrequirements
IBM Lotus Notes 6.5.x
Microsoft® Windows® XP, Professional Edition
Microsoft Windows 2000, Professional Edition with Service Pack 3
Windows NT®, Version 4.0 (Intel® Pentium® only) with Service Pack 6a
Windows 98
Windows 95 (Second Edition installer minimum)
Macintosh OS X 10.1.x and 10.2.x, 10.3 (new for Lotus Notes 6.5.2)
On this link, http://www-12.lotus.com/ldd/doc/domino_notes/6.5.4/readme654.nsf
double click on Client, Things you need to know, Platform and requirements, Windows Platforms Supported. The same info is given.
Perhaps your cust is referring to beta ver of Lotus Notes 7.x in which case is not supported for unity yet.

Maybe. I'll see what version they are using. This is the same folks HM as that other post, with the domain issues where they want to put unity on Windows 2003 because Windows 2000 is old and this is only server having issues talking to domain.
From this link, http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&uid=swg21110541 it saids that release 6 client is not supported on 2003.
They also want to know if they can make unity a domain controller (change domain name to something else) without reinstalling. Is this possible?

not possible to change domain name, w/o doing a reinstall.

Thanks Hinho. Do you know of a cisco doc that states a reinstall is needed for a domain name change or making server a Domain Controller?

Are you going to make the unity server a DC for the same domain that it is a member of?
If not, then you are going to have to reinstall.
This is the only thing I could find as far as a reinstall is concerned.
Supported Disaster Recovery Scenarios
Restore a Unity backup to a server in a different domain. All references that include the old domain path will be fixed up during the restore.
