Some of my messages left to me in unity have the "From" field in them. ie, You have 2 message, message 1 FROM "NAME" , then message.
and message 2, then plays message.
What does Unity use to populate the From "NAme" field? Basically, that name is the same for all vm's left, even though the message that plays after it is the true voicemail.
Thanks

3 Questions:
1) What version of Unity?
2) Unified Messaging or Voicemail Only?
3) You said the name is the same for all messages - what is the name that is played back to you?

Unity version 7.0(2) with ES20
Unfied Messaging
The name played is an external name. ie John Smith. I have a H323 GW and am not accepting calling name. The incoming number is being overwritten as it is not the number of the person placing the test calls. Really dont know where it is coming from, except maybe its tied to that incoming DID somehow

Figured it out. All the individual DID's coming out of the site are being translated into the main number. The user set this main number up as a Subscriber Defined Extension. Therefore, Unity matched the number to his greeting, and used his recorded name.
Thanks for your response.
