Using Device Pools to Organize Buildings

Hello!

First, I'm relatively new at some of this, but you'll see that based on my question.

I'm interested in the idea of organizing the phones in my system using device pools to describe which building the phone is in. We already use the pools for WAN locations, and have two per location with one named Location-NoSRST. (Not entirely sure why no SRST on some phones, but that's what I inherited. It's a separate question.)

Anyway, can I just copy a device pool, rename it to describe my building, and apply it to all the phones in my building?

FWIW: CUCM 11.5, about 285 phones, about 25 buildings.

Thanks!

-John

Hello,

Yes, you can copy the device pool and rename it as per the buildings. Also, make sure to change the parameters that may be specifically defined as per the buildings if there are any.
Then, you can do a bulk update for the phones using the query method.

Hope this helps !
