Hi Pros,
I am planning an upgrade on a cluster with 10 servers(2 CUCMs, 2 CUPs, 2 Unitys,2 UCCX and expressways). My concerns here is CUP and CUCM, my plan is to upgrade one application at a time. For instance, Moday for CUP and tuesday CUCM. Now knowing that CUP is pretty much integrated with CUCM. Will it be matters to keep them on different version for a couple of days max? EX. keep CUCM at 10.5 and upgrade up to 11.5
Has any one try it that way? Last i upgraded from 9.x to 10.5 was over weekend; i barely had enough time to do the four servers back to back!
Any suggestion/comments are welcome.
Thanks,

You will need to upgrade CUP at the same time. See the Version Requirements paragraph from the link below.
All servers in a cluster must run the same release of Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The only exception is during a cluster software upgrade, during which a temporary mismatch is allowed.
If you are installing IM and Presence nodes, the software version of the first IM and Presence node (the IM and Presence database publisher node) must match the first two numbers of the software version installed on the Unified Communications Manager publisher node. For example, IM and Presence Service software version 11.0.1.10000-1 is compatible with Cisco Unified Communications Manager software version 11.0.1.30000-2.
After you install the first IM and Presence node, the software version of any IM and Presence subscriber nodes that you install must match all five version numbers of the first IM and Presence node.
For example, if the IM and Presence database publisher node is at version 11.5.1.10000-1, then all IM and Presence subscriber nodes must also be 11.5.1.10000-1.

Thanks Brandon... I did read that somewhere but i thought i could bent the rule a bit here.
But this since PROD and don't have a lab; i rather find the time to do the four servers back to back again.
