"Disabling" Unified Messaging for certain users

I have a customer that was recently installed on Unity 4.0(4), Unified Messaging, integrated with the customer's existing Exchange 2003 system. Problem is that some users just absolutely hate the unified messaging and do not want anything to show up in outlook.

Is there anyway to set this up so that certain users only get messages via the TUI? We could setup rules in outlook, but if we deleted or moved the message, its out of Unity. If we just mark it as read, MWI goes off.

Not sure if there's an easy fix or if its impossible, wasn't able to find anything addressing this issue directly on CCO. Any help greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Jim

No, you can't "turn off" UM - we're using the mailbox as our primary store, we don't sync to it from a seperate database.

The only way to do VM only is to create hidden mailboxes for the voice mail boxes for these users...
