Adding new B200 M5 Service Profile

Iscsi boot

VMware

We added a new B200 M5 blade(blade5/slot5) with expander card to a B200 M5 only chassis with 3 existing B200 M5's(No expander cards-to be added after successfully adding the new blade in slot 5)

Current Errors adding the new blade are, Service Profile: no.19

F16995 : [FSM:STAGE:RETRY:]: Evaluate association with server (FSM-STAGE:sam:dme:LsServerConfigure:EvaluateAssociation)

F0689 : Assignment of service profile iscsi_xxxxxx19 to server failed

F0327 : Service profile iscsi_uwcpvw19 configuration failed due to compute-unavailable,insufficient-resources

I have done this twice : "blade re-ack should resolve the issue."

Any Advice to solve these issues would be appreciated.

Is the blade showing fully discovered? If the blade does not discover the service profile will stay failed.

"compute-unavailable" typically indicates a server pool is in use on the service profile, but the physical server is not part of the server pool. Are you using server pools here to mange the blades?

Adding 3/5 to the server pool(manually add) resulted in the "grab" of the available Service Profile "Service Profile: no.19" .No Errors after the change. Thank you @Wes Austin.

Hi @Wes Austin,

I have attached the M5 in slot blade's status

You are correct, server pools are in use. The last 2 M5's added (slots6 and now slot5) are not in the server pool.Slot6 is however still functioning. We have 3 chassis (1 and 2 are M3's)(3 is the x M5's) 16 M3's and 2 m5's are in the server pool

Adding 3/5 to the server pool(manually add) resulted in the "grab" of the available Service Profile "Service Profile: no.19" .No Errors after the change. Thank you @Wes Austin.
