Do a resolve slot issue, or

ack the chassis (recommendation: only in a maintenance window, due to traffic disruption)

if this is not possible, you could also ack each IOM separately, therefore bringing down only one fabric for some 10's of seconds.

Walter.

I did resolve slot issue "The system is not able to determine the FRU of the server in this slot"

regarding the IO Module ack option do you mean reset IO Module becaus i don't have action called ack IO Module as you can see in the screenshot.

Thanks,

This feature is available since

Release 2.2(4b) adds support for the following:

  • Per Fabric Interconnect Chassis Reacknowledgment—You can now reacknowledge a chassis per Fabric Interconnect. This allows you to maintain connectivity to the chassis through the other Fabric Interconnect.

I would do

Reacknowledging a Blade Server

Perform the following procedure if you need to have Cisco UCS Manager rediscover the server and all endpoints in the server. For example, you can use this procedure if a server is stuck in an unexpected state, such as the discovery state.

Procedure
Step 1   In the Navigation pane, click the Equipment tab.
Step 2   On the Equipment tab, expand Equipment > Chassis > Chassis Number > Servers.
Step 3   Choose the server that you want to acknowledge.
Step 4   In the Work pane, click the General tab.
Step 5   In the Actions area, click Server Maintenance.
Step 6   In the Maintenance dialog box, click Re-acknowledge, then click OK.

Cisco UCS Manager disconnects the server and then builds the connections between the server and the fabric interconnect or fabric interconnects in the system. The acknowledgment may take several minutes to complete. After the server has been acknowledged, the Overall Status field on the Generaltab displays an OK status.

    Hi,

I would like to know what the power failure means exactly, was it an AC power issue or a chassis power supply failure?

    James.

    Hi,

    Its an AC power issue.
