I have UCSB-B200-M3 servers and ESXi 6.0 now. I want to update UCSB-B200-M3 and ESXi server to 6.5u2

First I want to learn that our server bios version is B200M3.2.2.6d.0.062220160055 .  I will install 6.5 u2 on b200-m3 servers so bios version is up to date for b200-m3.  if it is not up to where I should check it. Can you give me full access for download and check bios web site link on the Cisco web site

Also if it is not up to date. I use UCS manager and blades server so how I can install the new firmware and ucs manager etc....

Please check:

HCL https://ucshcltool.cloudapps.cisco.com/public/#

You can check the individual software bundles at https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/release/notes/CiscoUCSManager-RB-22.html to confirm exactly what bios version is included in specific firmware packages.

Thanks,

Kirk...

I wonder that why VMWare says these bios is enough? cisco has new bios version on site but VMWare is also older. I'm confused here. VMware page should take reference of why the old version exists on the site. is it okay if I upload new bios? I didn't understand the logic of the VMWare page

https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?deviceCategory=server&productid=20844&deviceCategory=server&details=1&partner=146&releases=408&keyword=B200%20M3&systemTypes=1&page=1&display_interval=10&sortColumn=Partner&sortOrder=Asc

Also, I didn't find our version in the website which Component . just wonder which version and in which file the name is written. I asked it how to check another version in the future ( B200M3.2.2.6d.0.062220160055 )

cisco UCS manager is not rebooted when updating servers? but it is going to be reboot while blade server gets updated?

VMware's HCL and Cisco's HCL will vary from time to time, but VMware will always default to saying 'when in doubt, go with the actual hardware vendors HCL'

I would worry less about the exact BIOS release,,, and use the Cisco HCL tool, to point you to the overall Blade firmware bundle (i.e. 2.2(8i) ), that aligns with the ESXi versions you are using.

The HCL will also list the relevant drivers, such as enic, fnic, megaraid_sas, etc that you would want to check at the OS level.

Thanks,

Kirk...
