Hi All,
We have Cisco UCS FI 6200 and 6300 Running with 80 Blades in the backend for Virtualization platform running around 4000 Guest VMS.
Right now We have FIA and FIB are connecting to the 5K and then 5K are connected to the NEXUS 7K and 5K.
I want to know if we can connect 5I directly to the Core rather than adding additional Hop. The Problem today We want solve
Port-channel Over subscriptions for Below Traffic
a. Backup Traffic.
b. Management Traffic
c. Production Traffic.
Are there any Limitation in terms of Version of nexus we run on the core or the Model/Code we use on the FI not compatible.

As long as your upstream 'core' has the corresponding new links programmed the same for vlans, QOS (if defined), MTU, etc, than the UCSM will be oblivious to the change.
If you are going to split up the connectivity, some to N5Ks and some to core, make sure you correctly 'prune' off the appropriate vlans via the vlan uplink manager to accommodate what is called a 'disjoint layer 2' config.

If this is primarily Ethernet traffic, then there is little compatibility issues to be concerned about.
If you were connecting FC port-channels there were some OUI ID issues, but will not be an issue for you.

Hi Kirk,
Thank you for your Response.
We do use SAN but on the FI we have dedicated SAN port-channel to our MDS SAN.
The only Challnge we have Today is over subscription of the VPC from 5K to the Core and that is cuasing contention which we want to avoid and see if we can Directly plug FI to the Network Core.
