Greetings.

You need to check the UCSM release notes and see what the minimum version of the Infrastructure/UCSM and blade firmware bundle is required to support that processors.

For example, check http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/release/notes/CiscoUCSManager-RN-3-1.html#reference_9DA295B6B4654104A5F2A3EBA960A2E1 and there is a list of newer CPUs that the 3.1(2b) release supports.

Some items like DIMMs, just require an update to the capability catalogue, but processors will require minimum firmware in order to be supported.

Thanks,

Kirk

Thanks Kirk !

that's the exact UCSM version we have [3.1(2b)]

So , from what i understand, this CPU is not supported there ?!?!

I thought that a newer version of UCSM should support older CPUs , no ?

Is there anything to do ?

What is the CPU PID# ?

Thanks,

Kirk...

Hi , I only what in the attached draw

Can't see anything in the "CPUs" tab

Please confirm your CIMC and your BIOS have actually been upgraded to the 3.12b levels.  You may have to manually do this if the shipped BIOS/CIMC levels are lower than the required versions in order to complete POST and discovery.  If the POST/discovery process isn't able to complete, then your service profile & potential hostfirmware policy/package, never gets to complete.

Thanks,

Kirk...

thanks Kirk

we'll update the whole firmware tomorrow, and get back with an answer if it succeeded

Update :

**********

Yay , it succeeded !

Thanks Kirk
